Catch FS-FLA’s latest episode of “Inside The Panthers: A Pirate’s Life”, focusing on AHL partner Portland, immediately following the game (on a personal note, this year’s crop of “ITP” has been outstanding in quality and content; a major leap forward from recent seasons).

NHL.com Preview:

[Brandon] Pirri, who was a healthy scratch against Chicago, is expected to return Saturday. Coach Gerard Gallant dispelled rumors Pirri was on the trading block and said sitting him was performance-based. “He’s a goal scorer. Yahoo.com Preview:

The rising Lightning can match a franchise record with an eighth consecutive win in Saturday night’s showdown with a Panthers team bolstered by Ekblad’s return. Tampa Bay (26-17-4) has closed within three points of the Panthers’ lead atop the Atlantic Division by recording its longest winning streak since an eight-game run from Feb. 23-Mar. 6, 2004, the year of the club’s lone Stanley Cup championship. [Nikita] Kucherov has at least one point in each of those wins and scored in a third straight game during Thursday’s 2-1 victory over Chicago, breaking a 1-all tie with a power-play goal in the second period.
