Is there more to Panthers’ Michael Frolik?

Been a quiet couple of days for the Panthers since defeating Montreal on Tuesday; no arguments here – actually gotten some work done.

Took a peek at the roster this morning, and given the assorted injuries sustained throughout the year – bizarre and otherwise – finding consistency among the forwards has been an exercise in statistical frustration.

Take Michael Frolik’s numbers: his 30 points are not embarrassing, especially after enduring a truly awful October and currently riding a seven-game goalless streak (2a).

Generally though, is he where you expected him to be following his rookie season’s 45 points? Has playing alongside Nathan Horton and Stephen Weiss propped him up, or (sit down) perhaps amazingly held him back from further progress?

Has he hit a virtual wall, and if not, what will be required for him to make that next step – so often difficult after a successful first year which raised expectations around the league.
