Report: Vincent Trocheck added to Team North America’s taxi squad

According to the Sun Sentinel’s Harvey Fialkov, Florida Panthers center Vincent Trocheck has accepted an invitation to be an alternate on Team North America for the upcoming World Cup of Hockey.

Trocheck will be available to join the main 23-man roster if an injury befalls one of the team’s forwards.

The 23-year-old pivot is coming off a fine season that saw him score 25 goals and add 28 assists in 76 games.

A late-season injury kept Trocheck out of the first four games of the Panthers playoff series against the New York Islanders.

The 2016 World Cup of Hockey runs from September 17 to October 1 at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. Aleksander Barkov, Jussi Jokinen and Aaron Ekblad will be participating in the tournament.
