Wednesday Offseason Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

Florida Panthers forwards Eetu Luostarinen and Aleksi Saarela went head to head in Finland’s Liiga yesterday and Luostarinen’s two assists helped propel KalPa to a 4-3 road win over Lukko.

Luostarinen drew the only assist on Lassi Lappalainen’s game-opening goal 15 seconds into the game and then picked up the secondary helper on Alexander Ruuttu’s tally that put KalPa up by two at the 12-minute mark.

The 22-year-old center logged 23:34 TOI and finished the game with a +2 rating. He is now up to 15 points in 15 games for KalPa.

Saarela scored on his only shot on goal of the game. The goal was his 11th of the season and came with Lukko on a power play.

The 23-year-old played 16:34 and finished the game with a -1 rating. Saarela is second on Lukko in scoring with 16 points in 15 games.

Defenseman Kasper Puutio bagged his first-ever Liiga goal (and point) in Karpat’s 6-3 win over JYP.

The 18-year-old Panthers fifth rounder scored the game’s final goal, logged 10:21 TOI, five shots on goal, and finished with an even rating.

Alec Rauhauser scored the game-winning goal 3:07 into overtime to give DVTK Polar Bears a 3-2 win over HK Nitra in Tipos Extraliga action. Rauhauser now has three goals, three assists and a +6 rating in 7 games.

Vladislav Kolyachonok  logged 10:22 TOI and blocked two shots in Dinamo Minsk’s 2-1 overtime win over Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. The 19-year-old took two minor penalties and finished the game with a -1 rating.

Owen Lindmark and Tyler Inamoto took part in Wisconsin’s 6-3 drubbing of Penn State.

Lindmark won 15 of 25 faceoffs, blocked one shot and finished with a +1 rating. The sophomore center has three assists in six games this season.

Inamoto, a defenseman in his senior season collected his second assist of the season, blocked four shots, had one shot on goal and finished with a -1 rating for the 4-2 Badgers.
