Friday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

With thanks to Kukla’s Korner, I happened upon another fish (or is it “Fisch”?) who resides in that small pond of high-profile pundits whom actually applaud Tallon, Inc.’s efforts over the past eight days in the person of Stan Fischler on Thursday:

By far the most overlooked terrific move was Dale Tallon’s nabbing of Willie Mitchell. My favorite unsung defenseman will be for the Panthers everything that Jovo was not.

Fischler Report contributor Alan Greenberg went into much further detail on Florida’s situation a day earlier, specifically spotlighting new Panthers head coach Gerard Gallant and why he’s a perfect fit:

Gallant did not have the extensive NHL head coaching experience sought by Florida. His NHL head coaching resume consisted of parts of three mediocre seasons in Columbus. It was enough. The Columbus gig, combined with his role as an assistant coach in the Montreal turnaround and three straight first place finishes with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL was all Tallon needed to convince himself that Gallant had the right stuff.

A worthy read.

Caterwaul Time returns, so the floor is yours. Have a safe and fun weekend, all!
