Saturday Caterwaul: Canucks advance, Golden Knights force Game 7

Arturs Silovs made 28 saves and Pius Sutter scored with 1:39 remaining in regulation for the Vancouver Canucks, who eliminated the Nashville Predators with a 1-0 victory in Game 6 at Bridgestone Arena. Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson drew the assists on the series winning goal. The Canucks will take on the Edmonton Oilers in the second round.

The Vegas Golden Knights lived to fight another day by shutting out the Dallas Stars by a 2-0 count at T-Mobile Arena. Noah Hanifin’s unassisted goal 9:54 into the the third period stood as the game-winner. Adin Hill made 23 saves and Mark Stone clinched it with an empty-netter. Game 7 will be played tomorrow night in Dallas. The winner will face the Colorado Avalance.

The Florida Panthers will finally have an opponent at the conclusion of tonight’s Game 7 between the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs at TD Garden. Toronto is looking for its first series win over the Bruins since 1959, while Boston wants to finally close out after holding a three games to one lead. ABC will have the broadcast starting at 8 p.m.
