The Boston Bruins will face the Florida Panthers on Monday night after edging the Toronto Maples Leafs 2-1 in overtime in Game 7 at TD Garden.
After the Maple Leafs grabbed the lead on William Nylander’s goal at the 9:01 mark of the third, defenseman Hampus Lindholm tied the score from the left circle 1:22 later.
David Pastrnak notched the series-winner 1:54 into overtime when he sped to Lindholm’s dump-in and beat Ilya Samsonov with a backhand to complete a beautifully executed set play.
Jeremy Swayman stopped 30 shots for Boston while Samonsov finished with 29 saves for Toronto.
Florida went 0-2-2 against the Bruins during the regular season. The Panthers have won both of the playoff series they’ve played against Boston.
