Graphic design: Francisco Oporta

The Florida Panthers quest for the franchise’s first Stanley Cup resumes tonight when they visit the Big Apple to take on the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final. After knocking off the Tampa Bay Lightning in five games, the Panthers dispatched the Boston Bruins in six to make the NHL’s final four for the second straight season. The Presidents’ Trophy-winning Rangers, who are seeking their first title since 1994, opened the playoffs by sweeping aside the Washington Capitals before holding off the Carolina Hurricanes in six games in the second round to reach this point. This will be the first postseason meeting between the teams since 1997, which the Rangers won in five games.
