Gameday 55: Florida Panthers at Tampa Bay Lightning

The Florida Panthers (35-15-4) will put its ten-game road winning streak on the line today when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning (30-20-5) at Amalie Arena. The Cats climbed to the top of the standings in the Eastern Conference with a 4-0 blanking of the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday that saw Anthony Stolarz finish with 45 saves to post his first shutout as a Panther. Carter Verhaeghe scored twice, Anton Lundell had a goal and assist, Aleksander Barkov and Gustav Forsling each collected two helpers and Ryan Lomberg notched his first power-play goal in the NHL.

The Lightning come into the game hot as well. After dropping its first two games after the All-Star Break, Tampa Bay has won three-straight and boasts an impressive 11-3 record over its last 14 outings. While the Cats were beating Buffalo, the Lightning doubled up the slumping Colorado Avalanche by a 6-3 count. League scoring leader Nikita Kucherov, who is up to 93 points, scored two goals and added an assist and Brayden Point and Steven Stamkos each contributed a goal and an assist to help Tampa Bay register its 30th win of the campaign.
