Anthony Stolarz set up Anton Lundell’s game-opening power-play goal and then made it stand up as the winner by posting his second shutout of the season in the Florida Panthers feisty 2-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators at Amerant Bank Arena.

With Artem Zub serving time in the sin bin, Stolarz caught the Senators changing and sent a long stretch pass to Lundell, who broke in on Joonas Korpisalo and finished along the ice at the 12:02 mark.

Nick Cousins completed the scoring with 5:12 left in the penalty-filled first period by collecting a loose puck and snapping home a shot from the high slot after Niko Mikkola took a nice drop pass from Sam Bennett and was poke-checked by Zub.

After stopping nine shots in opening frame, Stolarz made five saves in the second and 11 in the third as the Panthers blanked the Senators for the third time this season.

Florida put 30 shots on Korpisalo and killed off all three Ottawa power-play chances to reach 104 points points, which is the second-most in the history of the franchise. The Cats will resume the homestand on Thursday when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets.
