Panthers prospect Henrik Borgstrom scores three times in HIFK win

Florida Panthers prospect Henrik Borgstrom scored three goals in HIFK’s 7-2 win over Assat in Thursday action from Finland’s Liiga.

The outburst, coming in his eighth game of the season, took the 23-year-old from one to four goals (and two assists) this season.

Borgstrom opened the scoring 3:45 into the game by taking a pass from Elis Hede and going five-hole.

On his second goal 5:18 later, Borgstom receives a feed in traffic from Ville Leskinen and gets a quick shot off that finds the back of the net.

Henrik completes the hat trick 1:16 into the second period by splitting the defense and going five-hole again.

Borgstrom finished the game with three shots on goal and +2 rating in 13:07 of ice time.

Anton Lundell picked up a primary assist on HIFK’s fourth goal of the game an finished with a +1 rating while playing 17:47. Lundell leads HIFK in goals (13) and points (22) despite missing four games.

Defenseman Kasper Puutio registered one shot on goal and finished with an even rating in Karpat’s 2-0 loss to Lukko. Aleksi Saarela remains out for Lukko.

Emil Heineman had one shot on goal, three hits and finished with an even rating in 12:31 TOI during Leksands 3-2 win over Linkoping in action from the Swedish Hockey League.
