New format this week, focusing more on the Florida Panthers prospects than older veterans in the AHL and overseas, as well as where they rank on my list of the top 20 FLA prospects heading into 2011-12. A poll is included.

Only one game for the Rampage this week, a 5-0 loss to the Peoria Rivermen, AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues. Former NHL 50-goal scorer Jonathan Cheechoo scored twice and was named the game’s third star, as the Rivermen’s powerplay went 4-for-6. Brian Foster was in net for the entire game, making 23 saves. The Rampage are currently 3-2-0 and tied with the Texas Stars for last place in the West Division.

The Cyclones had a two game weekend, falling to the Reading Royals, who rallied in the third with two goals. Adam Comrie scored a powerplay goal in the second period. The Cyclones ended the weekend with their first win, shutting out the Trenton Titans, 3-0. Adam Comrie scored another goal and Garrett Wilson scored an empty netter. The Cincinnati Cyclones are 1-2-0 and are tied with the Toledo Walleye for last place (four team division) in the North division.

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees season began with 2-1 and 5-1 losses to the Missouri Mavericks. On Wednesday, the Killer Bees completed their first trade of the season, trading for Aaron Boogaard from the Laredo Bucks in exchange for future considerations.
