Wednesday Caterwaul: Randy Moller is the Florida Panthers new color analyst

FOX Sports Florida and the Florida Panthers announced that ‘Red  Deer’ Randy Moller has been named the new television color analyst for the 2019-20 season, replacing the retired Denis Potvin. Moller joins play-by-play man Steve Goldstein in the broadcast booth after spending each of the last four seasons as a host and an analyst between the benches.

Moller has spent the last 21 years serving in a variety of capacities for the Cats, including as the club’s radio play-by-play voice where he provided fans with enthusiastic and colorful broadcasts. In addition to his on-air duties, Moller has been part of the team’s front office staff since 2002, where he currently serves as the club’s Vice President of Broadcasting & Panthers Alumni. Moller also serves as president of the Panthers Alumni Association.

Panthers President & CEO Matthew Cladwell had this to say:

“Randy has been a beloved member of our broadcast team who has a special relationship with our organization, fan base and the South Florida community, Over the years, Randy’s one-of-a-kind personality and knowledge of the game have made him a constant presence in Panthers games on both radio and television. We’re thrilled to announce Randy’s new role in the broadcast booth and look forward to hearing him and ‘Goldie’ call the action this season.”

Both Florida Panthers prospects, Spencer Knight and Serron Noel, at the World Junior Summer Showcase did not play in Canada’s 4-1 over the Team USA yesterday. Kirby Dach (Chicago Blackhawks) scored twice and set up a goal and Joe Veleno (Detroit Red Wings) and Nolan Foote (Tampa Bay Lightning) added markers for Canada. Foote also picked up two assists. Cole Caufield (Montreal Canadiens) scored the only goal for the Americans.

Canada will play Finland today at 1 p.m. while the Americans will take on Sweden at 4 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on NHL Network. So tune in if you need a hockey fix.
