Thursday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Offseason Open Forum

The ECHL’s Florida Everblades offered former Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr a one-year to stay in South Florida next season.

The Toronto Maple Leafs signed 2017 first-round draft pick Timothy Liljegren to a three-year, entry-level contract. The defenseman slipped to the Leafs at 17th overall and is turning heads in development camp.

In other signings yesterday, defenseman Jaccob Slavin signed a five-year extension with the Carolina Hurricanes worth $5.3 million per season. Andrew Copp re-upped with the Winnipeg Jets on a two-year deal. Gemel Smith remained with the Dallas Stars, signing a one-year, two-way contract. One-time Portland Pirate Wayne SImpson signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Washington Capitals.
