Panthers trade Connor Brickley to Hurricanes for Brody Sutter

The Florida Panthers have acquired forward Brody Sutter from the Carolina Hurricanes. Going back to Carolina is former second round pick, Connor Brickley.

Brody is the son of former Panthers head coach Duane Sutter. The 25-year-old was picked 193rd overall by the Hurricanes in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Sutter has played 211 AHL games for the Charlotte Checkers, posting totals of 36 goals and 83 points. He also has 12 NHL games to his credit, all with Carolina, with no points.

Brickley suited up in 23 games (1G/4A) with the Cats last season after being a bit of a training camp surprise.

He did not make the team this year and was sent to the Springfield Thunderbirds.

Sutter is expected to join the T-Birds in time for their opening game on Saturday.
