Tuesday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Offseason Open Forum

Hello August! July 2017 is in the books, so we inch ever so closer to October.

NBC released it’s 99-game broadcast schedule for the 2017-18 season yesterday.

Unsurprisingly, the Florida Panthers will make just one appearance, on NBCSN on October 21, against the Washington Capitals at 7:30 p.m. from Verizon Center.

The Buffalo Sabres avoided arbitration with Nathan Beaulieu, signing the 24-year-old defenseman to a two-year deal worth $4.8 million.

Buffalo acquired Beaulieu from the Montreal Canadiens on June 17, in exchange for the Sabres’ third-round pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

With Beaulieu taken care of, only three of the thirty restricted free agents who filed for arbitration remain unsigned.

New York Islanders defenseman Calvin de Haan’s arbitration hearing si scheduled for August 2, Vegas defenseman Nate Schmidt’s hearing is scheduled for August 3, and Minnesota Wild center Mikael Granlund’s hearing is schedule for August 4.
