Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky was named the NHL’s Second Star off the Week, joining former Cat Jacob Markstrom (First Star) and Nick Suzuki (Third Star) as the players honored for the week ending February 11.

Bobrovksy stopped 56 of the 58 shots he faced last week, posting a 2-0 record, 1.00 goals-against average, .966 save percentage and one shutout to help the Panthers (33-15-4, 70 points) climb within three points of first place in the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference. He made 21 saves, including 12 in the first period, in a 4-2 victory over the Washington Capitals February 8. Two days later, Bobrovsky earned his 41st career shutout (and third of the 2023-24 campaign) with 35 saves in an impressive 4-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche. The two-time Vezina Trophy winner has appeared in a total of 38 games this season (25-10-2, 2.43 GAA, .913 SV%, 3 SO), ranking among the NHL leaders in wins (3rd), shutouts (tied for 4th) and goals-against average (6th -minimum: 18 GP).

Expect Bobrovsky to be between the pipes when the Cats open a three-game road trip tomorrow night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
