Gameday 11: Florida Panthers vs Columbus Blue Jackets

Graphic design: Francisco Oporta

The Florida Panthers (5-4-1) return to Sunrise to meet the Columbus Blue Jackets (4-5-2) tonight at Amerant Bank Arena. A dreadful first period cost the Cats big time in a 5-2 loss to Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday. That defeat ended a three-game road trip (1-1-1) through Original Six cities on a sour note and sent the Panthers tumbling back to seventh place in the Atlantic Division.

The Blue Jackets got goalied by Charlie Lindgren in a 2-1 loss to the Washington Capitals on Saturday night. Like the Panthers, Columbus finds itself in seventh place place after dropping five of their last six games (1-3-2). The one win in that span was a 4-2 decision over the Tampa Bay Lightning, so the Panthers can’t take the Blue Jackets lightly.
