Scouting Report

The Florida Panthers and Columbus Blue Jackets will wrap up a quick two-game, back-to-back series when they meet again in Florida on Sunday evening. In Saturday’s opener, the Panthers had no trouble taking care of business at home via a 5-2 decision. They have now won five games in a row and are an outstanding 25-9-4 on the season. With Sergei Bobrovsky having minded the net on Saturday, Florida will likely turn to Chris Driedger for this one. The Panthers can’t really go wrong either way, but Driedger has been even better than Bobrovsky in 2021. He is 10-4-2 with a 2.18 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage. Good luck to Columbus solving Driedger! The Blue Jackets have scored only nine goals in their last five games and they are averaging just 2.46 per contest for the year. They tried to mix things up by trading Pierre-Luc DuBois for Patrik Laine, but to say that hasn’t worked out would be a gross understatement. The Jackets have lost six of their last seven games and their struggles will likely continue on Sunday. Columbus is 1-4 in its last five overall and 1-4 in its last five against opponents with winning records. The Panthers are 4-0 in their last four at home and 4-1 in the last five meetings between the two teams.
