Florida Panthers Wednesday Caterwaul

Florida Panthers prospect Stepan Zvyagin played on the third line in Dinamo Minsk’s 2-1 overtime loss to Ak Bars Kazan in a regular season game from the KHL. Zvyagin saw third line duty and finished the game with one hit and a minus-one rating while logging 10:49 of ice time. The loss dropped Dinamo’s record to 2-3.

Kasper Puutio and Pelicans will face two-time defending champions Tappara in Tampere in a rematch of last year’s playoff final in the Liiga regular season opener for both teams.

Jakub Kos and Ilves will open their Liiga season on the road in Pori against Ässät. Ilves finished second in the league’s regular season table last season.

Florida reserve Yegor Korshkov and Amur Khabarovsk (2-3) will take to the road to do battle with HC Sibir Novosibirsk (2-3) in KHL action.

Elliot Ekmark and Almtuna IS will host Södertälje SK in a HockeyAllsvenskan preseason match.

2023 second-rounder Gracyn Sawchyn and the Seattle Thunderbirds will host the Everett Silvertips in a WHL exhibition game tonight.

The Colorado Avalanche signed unrestricted free agent forward Tomas Tatar to a one-year contract worth $1.5 million. Tatar, 32, produced 20 goals and 48 points while appearing in all 82 regular season games for the New Jersey Devils last season.

The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Adam Erne to a professional try-out agreement. Erne scored 8 goals and added ten assists in 61 games with the Detroit Red Wings in 2022-23.

Maxime Comtois has signed a professional contract agreement with the Vegas Golden Knights. The 24-year-old spent parts of five seasons with the Anaheim Ducks after being taken in the second round (50th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft.
