The Florida Panthers are north of the 49th parallel in search of its first win of the 2023-24 season when they take on the Winnipeg Jets this afternoon at Canada Life Centre. Florida’s revamped lineup played well, but couldn’t solve Filip Gustavsson in Thursday’s 2-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul.

Winnipeg also lost its season-opener. The Jets, who just signed lynchpins Connor Hellebucyk and Mark Scheifele to long-term extensions, dropped a 5-3 decision on the road to the Calgary Flames on Wednesday.
