Team Canada released seven players and named its three goaltenders for the upcoming world junior men’s hockey championship on Thursday.
One of the three goalies who earned a roster spot was Florida Panthers prospect Devon Levi. The Cats selected Levi in the seventh round (212th overall) of 2020 NHL Entry after the 18-year-old’s standout season for the Carleton Place Canadians of the Central Canada Hockey League.
Freshman Michael Benning scored his first-ever NCAA goal in Denver’s 5-1 victory over Miami. Benning’s third period tally put the Pioneers up by a 4-1 count. He also drew the primary assist on Denver’s first goal of the game. Benning, a defenseman chosen in the fourth round in 2020, has produced seven points in his first five college games.
