LBC Friday Night Playoff Game Thread

In tonight’s NHL playoff action, the Montreal Canadiens will be looking to steal another one on the road from the Tampa Bay Lightning; the Pittsburgh Penguins will try to continue their dominance over the Columbus Blue Jackets to go up two games to zero; and a pair of original-sixers will open their series at TD Garden in Boston. This will be the first postseason meeting between the Red Wings and Bruins since 1957.Wow, that’s a long time…

Last night, Paul Stastny powered the Colorado Avalanche past a game Minnesota Wild in overtime; the St. Louis Blues also had to work extra time, beating the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 in a triple-overtime thriller thanks to Alexander Steen‘s winner; the New York Rangers used a big third period to shake off the Philadelphia Flyers 4-1; and the San Jose Sharks cruised by the Los Angeles Kings by a 6-3 count.

In a bit of news from the Florida Panthers organization, the Abbotsford Heat beat the Rampage 3-1 last night in San Antonio. Scott Clemmensen took the loss and John McFarland netted the only goal for the Silver and Black on a second period power play. Drew Shore and Vince Trocheck picked up the helpers. The two teams will play again Saturday night to conclude the AHL regular season.

Feel free to stop LBC and join the crew as Bettman & Co. have a full slate of games for us to watch and pontificate about this weekend.
