NHL Playoffs: Blue Jackets stun Lightning again

Deadline acquisition Matt Duchene scored a goal and set up three others as the Columbus Blue Jackets skated to an easy 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Cam Atkinson, Zach Werenski, Riley Nash and Artemi Panarin scored the other goals for Columbus. Potential Florida Panthers offseason target Sergei Bobrovsky made 23 stops and has only surrendered one goal to the high-powered Bolts in five periods since giving up three in the opening frame of Game 1 on Wednesday.

Robin Lehner made 32 saves to lead the New York Islanders to a 3-1 win and 2-0 series lead over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Jordan Eberle and Josh Bailey scored their second goals of the series and Anthony Beauvillier also scored. Former Panther Erik Gudbranson came up with the only Pittsburgh goal. The Isalnders blanked Sidney Crosby for a second straight time.

Oskar Sundqvist scored twice and Ryan O’Reilly bagged the game-winner in the third period as the visiting St. Louis Blues edged the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 at Bell MTS Place. Jordan Binnington stopped 26 shots and Patrick Maroon notched the other St. Louis goal. Blake Wheeler, Patrik Laine and Mark Schefiele scored for the Jets, who fell behind 2-0 in the series.

Mark Stone scored the go-ahead goal in the second period and William Karlsson added a shorthanded breakaway tally for insurance in the thrid as the Vegas Golden Knights pulled out a 5-3 road win over the San Jose to knot the series at a game apiece. The Golden Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead, chasing starter Martin Jones, before the Sharks lit the lamp three times in a 2:09 span late in the first period to tie the game.
