Ottawa’s three in second prove too much for Florida, defeat Panthers 4-3

Senators vs Panthers coverage Silver Seven

The picture about says it all. Not that the Cats were lacking severely in any one department (other than NHL forwards whose names rhyme with “cooth” and “badoorzhak”), but in the end, the were out-hustled, out-maneuvered, and just plain beaten.

Everywhere they wanted to be, the Sens happened to occupy the same space first.

All Florida fans care about at this point is who scored for their club, and how many shots did Tomas Vokoun face. So here ya go: Steven Reinprecht‘s team-leading fifth goal opened the scoring in the first, followed by Stephen Weiss in the second and Bryan McCabe (on the PP) in the third. Jordan Leopold and Nathan Horton each banged out two assists.

As for the shots? 38-29. Florida. Yes, Florida. McCabe led all Panthers shooters with six. Announced attendance? 12,596. Not the game I was watching.

So here we are, currently battling Toronto for a lottery pick. Any suggestions? And what’s the story on DeBoer? Has honeymoon ended? Are his players listening any longer? Or is the message ineffective?
