Panthers' Goc And Kuba Contribute In Euro Victories

Marcel Goc set up the clincher for Adler Mannheim while Filip Kuba continued his stout defensive play for Vitkovice.

Florida Panthers center Marcel Goc picked up his eleventh assist of the season in Adler Mannheim’s 5-3 come from behind win over the Hamburg Freezers in Sunday action from the D.E.L. (German Elite League). Goc finished the game with two shots on goal and a +1 rating while skating on a line with Adam Mitchell and Yannic Seidenberg. Visiting Hamburg jumped out to a 3-0 first period lead on goals from Mathieu Roy, Matthew Pettinger and Robert Collins. Yanick Lehoux got the comeback started early in the second period by firing in his fifth goal of the campaign with assists going to Frank Mauer and James Sifers. Lehoux would score again two minutes later to cut the deficit to one. Midway through the period, Marcus Kink would find the back of the net to even the game at three. In the third period, Lehoux would complete the hat trick on the power play to put Adler ahead. Goc would combine with Yannic Seidenberg to set up an empty net goal by Craig MacDonald to complete the scoring with 1:02 remaining in the game. Dennis Endras made 29 saves to post the win in goal while Yannic Seidenberg and Craig MacDonald had two points apiece. The victory pushed Adler Mannheim to the top of the table in the D.E.L. with 38 points, two better than Kolner.

Defenseman Filip Kuba finished with an even rating and a minor penalty in Vitkovice Steel’s 2-1 win over Pojistovna Pardubice in Sunday action from the Czech Extraliga. Kuba was paired with Karol Sloboda for the second straight game. Martin Bartek scored in the first period for Pardubice with assists going to David Krejci of the Boston Bruins and Jakub Kindl. The 1-0 lead held up until Vitkovice defenseman Roman Polak tied the game with 5:43 left in the third period. Jiri Burger set up the power play goal. With less than two minutes to go in the game, Lukas Klimek fed Vladimir Svacina to give Vitkovice the big road victory. Filip Sendelar made 29 saves to get the win in goal while Martin Ruzicka took the loss for Pardubice.

Dmitry Kulikov did not play in Lokomotiv Yaroslavl’s 3-2 over CSKA Moscow on Sunday.

Jack Skille did not play in Rosenborg IHK Elite’s 7-1 loss to Lillehammer IK on Sunday.
