Justin Peters shines in net for Atlantic Division champs
The Hershey Bears got goals from three different players and a 31-save performance from goaltender Justin Peters to post a 3-1 win over the Portland Pirates in Game 2 of the opening round best-of-5 series.
After a scoreless first period, Garrett Wilson staked the Bears to 1-0 lead 1:41 into the second.
Sena Acolatse (1) scored Portland's only goal with 1:58 remaining in the stanza. The even-strength marker was assisted by Connor Brickley and Chase Balisy.
Hershey regained the lead early in the final frame on a power-play goal from Riley Barber at 1:31.
Barber combined with Carter Camper to set up Jakub Vrana's second of the series at the 8:07 mark to put the Pirates away.
Portland's Mike McKenna took the loss, finishing with 18 stops.
The series shifts to Hershey for the remainder of the games, starting with Game 3 on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
