Quick links: Ex-Panthers feature in crazy Bruins first period; Another headshot suspension; Vokoun’s future with the Panthers

The Boston Bruins‘ game against the Dallas Stars got out of hand almost before the first period started. Former Panthers forward Gregory Campbell fought Steve Ott at :01 of the first, right off the opening faceoff. There were two more fights in the opening 4 seconds and the Bruins chased starting goaltender after scoring on their first two shots. Yes, that’s ex-Panther Nathan Horton feeding David Krejci the puck at center, just before Krejci gets it to Milan Lucic for the goal. In the same game, Daniel Paille was ejected for a blindside hit on Raymond Sawada. Paille was suspended four games today by the NHL. Puck Daddy has more, including video of Mike Milbury at the intermission being somewhat reasonable about the hit and the likely consequences for Paille. The package includes the requisite replays of both the Marc Savard and David Booth concussions of last season. NHL.com has a story up on Tomas Vokoun‘s future with the Panthers. There are a few quotes from Vokoun and Pete DeBoer, but nothing earth shattering.
