Sunday Caterwaul: Kraken and Stars are going the distance

Jordan Eberle (2G/1A) and Eeli Tolvanen (1G/2A) each collected three points to power the upstart Seattle Kraken to a 6-3 win over the Dallas Stars at Climate Pledge Arena. Matty Beniers had a goal and assist and Yanni Gourde and Tye Karte also lit the lamp for the Kraken. Goaltender Philipp Grubauer finished with 20 saves.

Former Florida Panthers forward Mason Marchment, Joe Pavelski and Joel Kiviranta scored the goals for the Stars. Jake Oettinger stopped 14 of 18 shots before he was replaced by Scott Wedgewood, who turned aside 9 of the 10 shots he faced in relief.

The series will shift back to Dallas for the deciding game seven on Monday. ESPN will have the broadcast at 8 p.m.

Tonight will see the Edmonton Oilers host the Vegas Golden Knights at 10 p.m. (ESPN). The Golden Knights lead the series three games to two and will be looking to join the Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes in the NHL’s final four.
