Thursday Caterwaul: Second Round Open Forum

We will finally see some Game 7 hockey! The Colorado Avalanche evened its series with the Dallas Stars thanks to an impressive all-around effort and some solid goaltending from former Florida Panthers netminder Michael Hutchinson. Hutchinson, who played four games (1-1-2) with the Cats in the early portion of the 2018-19 season, has backstopped the Avalanche to two-straight wins after they fell behind in the series three games to one.

Colorado Avalanche 4, Dallas Stars 1

The Colorado Avalanche bushed off elimination with a 4-1 victory over the Dallas Stars in the Edmonton bubble. Michael Hutchinson gave up a weak goal early to Miro Heiskanen, but the Avalanche got goals from Nikita Zadorov, Cale Makar, Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon to send the series to a decisive seventh game on Friday. MacKinnon, who set up Ranatanen’s goal, has put up points in all 14 of Colorado’s postseason games and leads the playoffs in scoring with 25 points.
