Wednesday Offseason Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

The Florida Panthers have signed forward Mark Letestu to a professional tryout. The 33-year-old appeared in 20 regular season games with the Columbus Blue Jackets, recording four points (1G/3A) and 60 regular season games with the Edmonton Oilers, recording 19 points, including 8 goals. Letestu, undrafted out of Western Michigan University, has appeared in 558 career NHL regular season games for Columbus , Edmonton, and Pittsburgh, producing a total of 210 points (93G/117A).

Panthers defenseman Keith Yandle joined Danny Picard on his YouTube gaming series “PIC-up YA STICKS.” They played NHL 94, and Yandle talked about life in Florida, Shawn Thornton, playing with Jaromir Jagr, and his favorite wrestlers of all time. Here’s the link, check it out.

Speaking of defenseman, the Nashville Predators signed Ryan Ellis to an eight-year, $50 million contract extension. Ellis’ new deal kicks in at the start of the 2019-2020 season. (On The Forecheck)

RFA defenseman Steven Santini inked a new three-year deal worth $2.775 million with the New Jersey Devils. Santini appeared in 36 games with the Devils and produced 10 points last season. (All About The Jersey)
