2018-19 NHL season starts tonight!

The NHL, on the verge on adding a 32nd team in Seattle, opens its 102nd season of operation tonight with four games on the slate.

There is action from the Atlantic Division with the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs, two Canadian teams heading different directions, tussling at 7 p.m. at Scotiabank Arena.

The Boston Bruins open its season tonight, paying a visit to the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals at 7:30 p.m. This will be the first game of NBCSN’s opening night doubleheader.

Out west, the twin-less Vancouver Canucks will host the Calgary Flames at 10 p.m. and the Anaheim Ducks will visit the San Jose Sharks at 10:30 p.m. The Ducks – Sharks match will be the late game on NBCSN.

The Florida Panthers will open up Saturday night on the road versus the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena.
