Gameday 8: Florida Panthers at Boston Bruins

Graphic design: Francisco Oporta

The Florida Panthers (4-3-0) will open a three-game road trip tonight at TD Garden against the Atlantic Division-leading Boston Bruins (7-0-1). Florida is coming off a 3-2 comeback win over the Seattle Kraken which put them over .500 for the first time this season. Gustav Forsling, Matthew Tkachuk and Nick Cousins each scored their first goals and Sergei Bobrovsky continued his solid play with 29 saves.

After having its season-opening, six-game winning streak snapped in overtime by the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday, the Bruins bounced back with the an effective 4-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings over the weekend. Boston has only given up more than two goals in a game once thus far, the loss to the Ducks, so the Panthers will have to find a way to generate offense against the league’s best defensive team. This will be the first game between the two clubs since Florida shocked the Bruins in the first round of the playoffs.
