We’re heading east in our tour of former Panthers in the postseason this time, along with a few western stragglers yours truly denied previously mentioning.
The first round is now well under way, and again, this is not a list of predictions (with the possible exception of Boston over Montreal; that came out of left field, eh?). If I’ve missed any names let me have it in the comments.
I’ve enjoyed the games I’ve seen so far; the Pittsburgh – Philadelphia series has been particularly compelling in the Flyers’ absence of any presence whatsoever…until Sunday. And who can resist what’s taking place with the Canucks? Oh right. Fans of the Blues. Thought there might be a bit more punch from Columbus.
After an unspectacular stint in Anaheim, Monty slips into the Boston organization at this year’s trade deadline a happy man. Who wouldn’t be after landing feet-first with the east’s number one seed? A fan-favorite in Florida given his pugilistic and mutli-role abilities.

The fifteen-year veteran (seven with the Cats) soldiers on as one of the few Capitals with secondary scoring prowess not named Ovechkin, Semin, or Green.
Currently battling: inconsistency in a rough series against the Rangers.
227 points in four years with Florida just wasn’t enough, apparently. The soon-to-be 37 year-old continues contributing at a torrid pace, on a club which appears designed around his strengths. And a guy named Staal, too.Currently battling: New Jersey.
