Florida Panthers sign D Keith Yandle to seven-year deal

Accoring to multiple reports, the Florida Panthers have signed defenseman Keith Yandle to seven-year, $44.5M contract. The deal has an AAV of $6.35M and carries a no-movement clause for the first six years.

Florida acquired the negotiating rights to the pending UFA from the New York Rangers for a sixth-round pick in this weekend’s draft. Now that the two parties have come to a deal, the Rangers will get the Panthers fourth-round pick in 2017.

Adding the 29-year-old Yandle to the blue line cushions the potential blow of losing veteran Brian Campbell in free agency. Yandle played in 82 games for the Rangers last season and scored 5 goals and 42 assists.
