Thursday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

The Florida Panthers will enjoy another night off before facing the Los Angeles Kings on Friday night at the BB&T Center.

Florida will enter the game on a four-game winning streak, one off its season high. The Cats are currently six points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets for the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Kings (29-19-5)  have won two in a row and are coming off a 5-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers last night.

The Panthers have returned goaltender Samuel Montembeault to AHL Springfield, meaning James Reimer will be back in the lineup tomorrow night.

Speaking of the Thunderbirds, Springfield was beaten 3-1 on home ice last night by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Dryden Hunt scored the only T-Birds goal, with the assists going to Jayce Hawryluk and Mike Downing. Evan Cowley made 37 saves in the loss.
