Media Day in the books as Florida Panthers Training Camp hits the ice Friday

With the weigh-ins, photo shoots and most of the general off-ice business now behind us, a core of 51 Panthers and Panther Possibles (minus the NCAA crowd) finally get an opportunity to display their wares on the frozen stuff at 10 a.m. Friday.

As usual camp will be held at the IceDen in Coral Springs. If you haven’t yet visited that exquisite ultra-modern facility, some advice: dress warm. At least warm enough to catch all of the up-close action (sched courtesy of the club):

PRACTICE GROUP

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Practice (‘Den’ rink)

11:15 AM: Off-Ice workout

TEAM WHITE

11:10 AM – 11:45 AM: Scrimmage (‘Stadium’ rink)

12:00 PM – 12:45 PM: Scrimmage (‘Stadium’ rink)

1:00 PM: Stretch off-ice

TEAM RED

11:10 AM – 11:45 AM: Scrimmage (‘Stadium’ rink)

12:00 PM – 12:45 PM: Scrimmage (‘Stadium’ rink)

1:00 PM: Stretch off-ice

Also dubbed “2014 Fan Fest”, camp resumes Saturday but first things first. Now that most events will be open to the public we’ll all have a far more intimate view of the workings of a pro team prepping for a new season. It’s nothing short of sensational being so close to coaches commanding their troops, actually hearing the sound of skates pivoting and players communicating through the spoken word. It’s an experience that simply cannot be experienced in an NHL arena during a game. But enough of the gooey stuff.

FOX Sports Florida absolutely nailed coverage of Media Day, and we highly recommend checking out what went down right here. Jameson & company really delivered for the fans.
