Friday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

After signing Derek MacKenzie to an extension on Wednesday, the Florida Panthers actually made it through a day without making a personnel move. An extension for Jonathan Huberdeau is rumored to be in the works, but other than that, and maybe a few signings with an eye towards the Springfield Thunderbirds, one would think the Cats are done with the heavy lifting this offseason.

Let’s take a look back at the list of the Panthers’ own free agents at the start of the offseason:

Free Agents

Group 2 FAs: Jonathan Racine (tendered QO), Logan Shaw (tendered QO), Vincent Trocheck (re-signed)

Group 3 UFAs: Brian Campbell (signed: CHI), Jiri Hudler, Willie Mitchell, Al Montoya (signed: MTL), Brett Olson, Teddy Purcell (signed: LAK), Michal Repik.

Group 6 UFAs: Sena Acolatse, Rob Flick, Cameron Gaunce (signed: PIT), Corban Knight, Garrett Wilson(signed: PIT).

UFAs: Quinton Howden (signed: WPG), John McFarland, Dylan Olsen

While a handful of those players signed on elsewhere, a few of them are still available. Anyone you’d like to see brought back into the fold? Anyone else out there that you’d like to see the Cats sign at the big-league or minor-league level?

The floor is yours as we prepare to embark on another sweltering offseason weekend.
