Florida Panthers farmhand Jack Rodewald condemned by the NHL

Florida Panthers minor-leaguer Jack Rodewald was one of two players, the main offender being Brendan Leipsic of the Washington Capitals, condemend by the National Hockey League yesterday for  being involved in offensive, misogynistic group chant on Instagram that was leaked by another user.

“The National Hockey League strongly condemns the misogynistic and reprehensible remarks made by players Brendan Leipsic and Jack Rodewald in a private group chat that has surfaced on social media. There is no place in our League for such statements, attitudes and behavior, no matter the forum. We will address this inexcusable conduct with the clubs and players involved.”

Rodewald began the 2019–20 season in the AHL with the Belleville Senators. After going scoreless in six games, He was acquired by the Panthers in exchange for the rights of prospect Chris Wilkie on October 27, 2019.

In 43 games with the Springfield Thunderbirds, Rodewald put up five goals and 16 points.

He is in the final year of his contract and with the Thunderbirds done for the season has probably played his last game for the organization.
