Logan Hutsko enjoyed a highly-successful junior season for the Boston College Eagles, where he plays with fellow Florida Panthers prospects Spencer Knight and Ben Finkelstein, with a career NCAA-bests in both goals (19) and points (33) in 30 games played.
His 19 goals tied him with Alex Newhook, Colorado’s 2019 first-rounder, for the team lead and his 33 points ranked fourth best on the squad.
Hutsko also scored four game-winning goals, a total matched only by the aforementioned Newhook and fellow forward Julius Mattila. In addition to the 4 GWG, he set-up five other game-winners
This jump in production is most welcome after Hutsko dropped from 12 goals and 31 points as a freshman to just six goals and 26 points as sophomore.
Hutsko had 10 of those 26 points in Boston College’s final 10 games in 2018-19, so if we include that segment, he has collected 43 points in his last 40 games played, a sign that he has solidified his offensive output and become a very effective player at the NCAA level.
Other Junior Season Highlights
Finished the season seventh in the nation in goals per game with 19 tallies in 30 games
Led the team in shots on goal per game (3.7) and was +17 for the year
Ranked 11th in Hockey East in scoring with at least one point in all but four games
Put together a career-high 12-game point streak from the season opener to the January 4 win over Vermont and also tallied a seven-game point streak during the second half
Collected seven multi-point performances
Posted a multi-goal game in a 4-3 home win over Boston University in the Battle of Comm Ave on January 18 and was +3 against Boston University to match his career-high
Tied a career-high with two assists in a road win at Northeastern on February 20
Fired a career-best nine shots on goal in a road win over UConn on November 9
Hutsko will return to Boston College for his senior season. While his junior campaign was cut short because of the coronavirus outbreak, he will get one more shot at things like a Hockey East Tournament Final, Beanpot Championship and hopefully a deep run in the 2021 NCAA tournament.
