Rick Nash Clobbers Panthers’ Tomas Kopecky, No Review By NHL (update): “We don’t suspend for leaving the feet”

From March 21, 2013, this is one of those insane sequences that really needs no introduction as it speaks for itself rather perfectly. Interesting that Mr. Nash chose to go bat-bleep crazy during a game in which neither George Parros (injury) or Eric Selleck (suspension) participated for Florida. In a surreal irony – after no penalty was called on the “play” – Nash assisted on the Rangers‘ lone goal of the night, credited to Marian Gaborik, before Kopecky sealed the evening for the Panthers with an empty netter in the final minute.

No word as yet whether the league will even review the incident, but come on…this behavior is acceptable?

UPDATE #1: the league will not review the play. Stunned? BTW: poll has been closed for obvious reasons.

UPDATE #2: Shanny speaks via Puck Daddy (and thx to Rob for the latest link):

“We don’t see this as being principal point of contact to the head. For a fact, we don’t see much contact to the head at all.”

(Thanks to SB Nation’s Nicholas Scibetta for the initial vid/link.)
