Weekend Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

The NHL remains on pause as we await the start of the 2018 Stanley Cup final between the surprising Washington Capitals and the expansion Vegas Golden Knights on Monday night in Las Vegas.

There probably aren’t many, or maybe any, people who predicted it would be these two teams in the final, but each did win its respective division, so maybe we should be that surprised.

Here’s the schedule for this year’s Cup.

While we might not have the NHL this weekend, there is some hockey and you should  make sure you check out tomorrow’s Memorial Cup final between the Acadie–Bathurst Titan and the Regina Pats.

The game will be broadcast by NHL Network at 7 p.m. again, this is on Sunday night.

The Titan, champions of the QMJHL, finished in first place in the round-robin portion of the four-team tournament and advanced directly to the final round.

Host Regina knocked out the Hamilton Bulldogs, OHL champions, in the semifinal with a 4-2 win on Friday to advance.

Panthers prospect Aleksi Heponiemi’s Swift Current Broncos (WHL champions) finished the Memorial Cup in last place with an 0-3 record.

The comment section is yours so feel free to let fly with anything hockey-related.

Enjoy the long weekend, folks and make sure to enter the final round of the LBC predictions contest if you haven’t already done so.
