Florida Panthers Friday Caterwaul

Florida Panthers reserve Aleski Saarela drew the primary assist on Nolan Diem’s goal 15:04 into the opening period as SCL Tigers went on to post 3-2 win over HC Davos in an exhibition game from Switzerland’s National League.

Elliot Ekmark centered the third line with Filip Ekberg and William Eriksson on the wings in Almtuna’s 4-3 overtime loss to Östersunds IK in preseason action from Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan. Scoring details from the game were unavailable.

Kirill Gerasimyuk served as the backup goaltender in SKA Neva St. Petersburg’s 4-2 win over Rubin Tyumen in a regular season game from Russia’s Supreme Hockey League. Gerasimyuk has yet to start for SKA, who is off to a hot 3-0 start.

Champions Hockey League

Kasper Puutio and Pelicans will host HC Vítkovice Ridera of the Czech Extraliga. Pelicans are currently 1-1 in the tournament while Vítkovice Ridera has won both of its game, one in overtime.

Jakub Kos and Ilves will play host to Extraliga squad HC Oceláři Třinec. Ilves (2-0) is currently fifth in the 24-team table. Oceláři Třinec has dropped its first two games, but did earn a point by getting to overtime.

Aleski Heponimi and EHC Biel-Bienne will be in Sweden to face Färjestad BK. Biel has won its first two and is currently in sixth. Färjestad has split its first two games in regulation and has three points.

According to CapFriendly, The Arizona Coyotes have signed forward Ryan Dzingel and defenseman Peter DiLiberatore to professional tryout contracts.

Dzingel, 31, has appeared in 404 games (87G/101A) over parts of seven NHL seasons, most of which came back with the Ottawa Senators, who drafted him in the seventh round in 2011.

The 23-year-old DiLiberatore is a left-handed blueliner who split last season between the Vegas Golden Knights and Pittsburgh Penguins organizations. He has a total of 96 games of AHL experience.
