Friday Offseason Caterwaul: Florida Panthers and NHL Playoffs Open Forum

The Pittsburgh Penguins mauled the Nashville Predators 6-0 at PPG Paints Arena to take a 3-2 lead in the Stanley Cup Final.

Pittsburgh chased Pekka Rinne thanks to first period goals from Justin Schultz, Bryan Rust and Evgeni Malkin. Sidney Crosby finished with three assists and Matt Murray turned aside 24 shots.

The Predators will need to win Sunday night in Nashville to extend the series to a seventh and deciding game.

In some ex-Florida Panthers news, former head coach Gerard Gallant added former assistant coach Mike Kelly to his Vegas Golden Knights staff.

Speaking of the Golden Knights, Florida’s protected list is due in to NHL Central Registry just eight days from now. If the Cats are going to shuffle their roster prior to the expansion draft it’s got to happen soon.

TGIF everyone!
