Recap: Florida Panthers Go Porpoise On Offense, Take Loss Against Winnipeg Jets In OT

Disclaimer: I’m not a “recap guy”. Never have been. Of all the responsibilities that come with managing an SB Nation community, this is the one single aspect I loathe. Thankfully, LBC has been blessed with several guys who were born to take on such roles.

Unfortunately, this evening is not one of those times. So, in the absence of Ryan and Chris’ regular brilliance – both preoccupied with stuff you and I take for granted on a regular basis – you’re stuck with me. Given that my own situation includes moving within two months, planning for a wedding, and a child due in October, that means a lot of videos. And we’ve got ’em!

Ignoring the typically pointless bluster that comes with a #FlaPanthers follow on Twitter, there was much to like in Friday’s event:

Peter Mueller – 6 SOG, 1A, 3-for-3 on FOs

Tomas Fleischmann/Brian Campbell: 5 SOG each

Filip Kuba: 7 BkS(!)

Erik Gudbranson: 4 BkS, 6 hits, 1SOG

Faceoffs: 32-25, FLA

SOG: 40-28, FLA

Drew Shore was 7-for-13 on FOs

Olli Jokinen nailed 1 solid SOG

Blocked Shots: 17-9, FLA

All that said, on to the videos…

Jonathan Huberdeau (first FLA goal)

Shawn Matthias (second FLA goal):

Yeah, so that’s the deal. Onward. More from Arctic Ice Hockey here. Next Panthers action on Sunday; LBC GameThread at 5:30 p.m.
