Florida Panthers prospect goaltender Olof Glifford got the start and win in HV71’s 6-1 victory over Hockeyettan side Visby/Roma HK today.

On Friday, defensemen Luke Coughlin played on the first pairing with Spencer Gill in the Rimouski Oceanic’s 7-3 exhibition loss to Shawinigan Cataractes in action from the QMJHL.

Defenseman Ludvig Jansson saw action in Luleå HF’s 3-1 preseason loss to HC Ambrì-Piotta of the Swiss National League. Jansson played on the third pairing with veteran Erik Gustafsson, and did not figure in the scoring.

Cats reserve Aleksi Saarela saw second line duty in SCL Tigers 1-0 exhibition win over DEL side Schwenninger Wild Wings. Saarela did not figure in the scoring.

Woman’s World Championship Division 1A

Host China completed its perfect run through the Division 1A tournament with a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands. Already having clinched promotion, China (5-0) went out on winning note when Mulan Kang scored the game-winner 3:58 into the third period.

The loss was a tough one for the Dutch team, who finished 3-2, as it cost them a spot in the Top Division in 2024. They needed to win or get the game to overtime and came up short on both counts. The crushing defeat dropped them to fourth place in the tournament on head to head tiebreakers.

That second spot went to Denmark, who earned promotion with a convincing 4-1 win over Norway (1-4) this morning. The Danes finished the tournament with a 3-2 record and moved up the ladder because they beat the Netherlands and Austria head to head.

Nikola Rumanova scored the game-winner with 3:38 left in regulation to give Austria (3-2) a 2-1 win over Slovakia (0-5). Austrian goalie Selma Luggin finished with 45 saves to deny the relegated Slovaks a point. Austria finished in third place.
